The Boucher BG-42T-GM is a high-performance, handcrafted dreadnought engineered for professional acoustic musicians and flatpickers. Part of the Bluegrass Goose Series, this instrument maximizes projection, note definition, and headroom to cut through dense acoustic ensembles. Every component is voiced by hand in Quebec, Canada, using master-grade materials and premium boutique appointments.
Materials & Construction
Fully Torrefied Tonewoods
  • Soundboard: Master Grade 5A Adirondack Red Spruce. Thermally cured (torrefied) to optimize stiffness, reduce weight, and deliver the immediate response, dry punch, and harmonic complexity of a properly aged vintage instrument.
  • Back & Sides: Torrefied Premium Mahogany. Cured to ensure structural stability and provide a focused, woody midrange with excellent fundamental clarity.
  • Bracing: Forward-shifted, hand-scalloped Adirondack Red Spruce X-bracing, voiced specifically to maximize top deflection and dynamic range.
Hardware & Appointments (GM Package)
The "GM" designation features Boucher’s Gold Pack appointments, selecting functional and aesthetic upgrades that complement the guitar's acoustic properties.
  • Fingerboard & Bridge: Solid African Ebony for superior wear resistance and crisp transient response.
  • Nut & Saddle: Bone nut with a cut-through long saddle setup to maximize string-to-bridge energy transfer.
  • Tuners: High-ratio precision tuning machines for stable, smooth tuning adjustments.
  • Finish: Thin, high-gloss nitrocellulose lacquer to protect the wood without dampening structural resonance.
Performance Characteristics
  • Acoustic Profile: Balanced across the spectrum. Deep, controlled low end that avoids muddiness, a driving midrange, and clear, powerful highs.
  • Dynamic Range: Exceptionally high headroom. The soundboard responds predictably to light flatpicking while retaining absolute clarity under a heavy right-hand attack.
  • Playability: Features a tapered neck profile with a 1.75-inch nut width, balancing comfort for rhythm chording with precise string spacing for lead work.
