The Epiphone Joe Bonamassa Lazarus Les Paul 2021 is a signature-inspired solid body electric guitar that pays tribute to one of the most legendary restorations in modern blues-rock history. Designed in collaboration with Joe Bonamassa, this model is based on his famously restored 1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard known as “Lazarus,” a guitar that was brought back to life from heavily worn condition and revealed a stunning figured top beneath its original refin.
Built by Epiphone, the Lazarus Les Paul features a classic mahogany body with a maple cap topped by a wide-grain AAAA flame maple veneer, delivering both vintage-inspired aesthetics and the iconic Les Paul tonal foundation. The combination of mahogany and maple produces a rich, powerful sound with deep sustain, warm mids, and articulate highs, making it equally suited for blues, rock, and expressive lead playing.
The ‘59 rounded medium C mahogany neck offers a comfortable, familiar feel with a 24.75" scale length and 1.693" nut width, capturing the vintage Les Paul playing experience. An Indian laurel fingerboard with pearloid trapezoid inlays completes the traditional look and feel, while single-ply cream binding adds a refined vintage touch.
Electronics are a key highlight of this model, featuring Gibson BurstBucker 2 and BurstBucker 3 pickups for authentic PAF-style tone with dynamic response and clarity. The 50s-style wiring, CTS potentiometers, and Mallory capacitors ensure a warm, expressive vintage voice with excellent touch sensitivity and tonal depth.
